Garhira’s main geographical feature, spanning three of the planet’s five continents, is its equatorial rainforest. It is a naturally Earthlike planet, of higher average temperatures and humidity and with water covering close to 90% of the surface. The lack of heavy industry means its atmosphere is cleaner than most. The Garhira Jump gate has closed and reopened more than any other in recorded history, and every Al-Fashir Jihad into the Known Worlds has come through this jump gate. The Simurgh Nebula (named after a mythical bird), visible from both Garhira and Erem (a Caliphate world), is central to the Al-Fashir pilgrimage tradition.


Garhira was first settled by an alliance of extreme Primmortal worshiping technophiles, formed from the serfs of the Ra-tet Pharaonate during the early Diaspora, who attempted to keep the world a secret on behalf of their ancient Egyptian pantheonic masters, who promised one day to return. Others did not discover the world until the end of the First Republic, so Posthuman pantheonic control was never firmly established. In order to aggravate those pantheonic settlements that did exist, the technophiles opened the world to general colonization by independent groups still wandering the stars a century from leaving First Earth. Many people responded and occupied the best land before the pantheons could assert themselves. However, a comet slammed into the jump gate before the technophiles could create a completely self-sufficient world free of the pantheonic Zaibatsu on behalf of (or in spite of, depending on who you ask) their old masters, the Pharaonate.

The jump gate shut down as a result of the comet collision and the world descended into barbarism without vital imports. War broke out between the technophiles and the other colonists, as the colonists blamed technophiles for the comet and of hiding things from them. The Technophiles were quickly vanquished by the overwhelming numbers of the colonists, who then turned to attack each other.

The jump gate reopened early in the Second Republic, but the world was uninteresting to all but scientists. The piece of jump gate broken off by the comet was found, on the comet itself which had become trapped in orbit around the sun. House Hanuman quickly claimed the world for its own sphere of influence, but limited Atzlánti forces from access to the world. Starting in the 38th century GD, trade with the Al-Fashir became heavy on Garhira.

With the aid of the local police and the Sectus, the Atzlánti were eventually able to seize control of the world, though the Al-Fashir opposed this. The Al-Fashirri seized the jump gate fragment and used it to seal the gate, trapping the Atzlánti and preventing reinforcements. Eventually the Atzlánti had to surrender and the world again descended into barbarism in its isolation.

The jump gate opened again in GD 4327, at which time the Justinians invaded, but the gate closed only a year later. The Justinians did manage to establish the Andalus fief, which has survived to the present day. Assaults upon Andalus were mitigated due to the fact that the Al-Fashir were instead going after Timor. When the prior Emperor united the Imperium, he wanted to negotiate a peaceful settlement to the Garhira problem, but was assassinated before this could happen. After the Alecto Emperor’s death, the Atzlánti were about the invade Garhira full force but the jump gate closed yet again.

The Anadalus fief came under full assault, but by building up a strong navy and air force, and the Atzlánti managed to hold out. The jump gate opened again during the Primacy Wars and the Al-Fashir gave up on Andalus in favor of attacking Timor. The Atzlánti managed to land reinforcements on Garhira despite Caliphate pressure on Timor, thus opening up an offensive on Garhira. The siege of Omala was a pivotal battle in which the Atzlánti claimed and held a vital spaceport.

With end of the Primacy Wars, the Atzlánti devoted their full resources to liberating Garhira. By GD 4999, few Al-Fashirri ships dared enter the system and Juruta came under Atzlánti Control. In GD 5000, the Girata offensive brought most of the world under Atzlánti rule, except for Daanyu, the Al-Fashir power center, and a few isolated, outlying areas. The Al-Fashir have resorted to using asymmetric warfare and are using it to very good effect, though they seldom have any success in set piece battles between regulars.


An Al-Fashir controlled region, Daanyu is mostly mountainous and contains two major cities of note – Dal Jimbalif, home to a major space port, naval base and agora; and Hyderabad, home to a major airport and naval base. A massive Second Republic Observatory is also located on this island. The Atzlánti have made beach heads on the southern shore of this island.

An Atzlánti controlled region, Juruta is covered by heavy jungle and is home to the Valley of the Chervins. The Andalus fief is located here, along with the Atzlánti capital of Fort Omala. The fort is ruled by Duke Bellosyte Armane Korlat Spetara Rolas and contains the Atzlánti spaceport, agora and a major naval base. The fort is a true fort, having massive fortifications. Found with the fort are all Sectus sects, but especially the Idristites who are always eager to have at the Al-Fashir heretics and other pagans that inhabit the world.

This mountainous region is controlled by the ancestral remnants of the Ra-tet Pharaonate.
